“Still not too old to die young. The lovers hold on to everything, and the others hold on to anything.”-Ellie Goulding
Holy moly. I can’t believe Christmas has come and gone already. I can’t even begin to describe the past few days. They were a whirlwind of family, friends, and tons of food. Friday night started it off when Joey and I exchanged gifts. Even though we ended up ordering Chinese food and drinking wine while watching Christmas movies, it seemed that the theme of this Christmas was fitness. I got Joey a gym membership and some Under Armour gear, and he got me a sweet gift card to City Sports and a certificate to pay for my next race. Santa stocked my closet with new Under Armour sweatpants and running hoodies. He also stopped at Nike for a new LIVESTRONG running jacket. Thanks to all the goodies I got, my runs will look as good as they feel. And let me tell you, they’ve been feeling so good lately. I ran my favorite long distance (13.1 miles) before heading out on Saturday night and did a couple tempo runs while I was home for the holiday. My pace has been improving and I feel stronger than ever. I’m hoping by the time Broad Street rolls around, I’ll be ready to kick some butt and PR. Now that I work from home a few days a week, I can squeeze an extra yoga workout into my day. I definitely think that doing yoga a few times a week have done wonders for my running and weight lifting. The promised post about my weight lifting routine is in progress, so that will be posted this week!
I hope everyone had an as amazing holiday as I did. Did Santa fill your stocking with gym gear too?
