Here’s To Never Growing Up

photo (11)Awww Friday, we meet again. This time last week, I was waking up in Miami. Today, I’m waking up to the perfect morning temperature of 53 degrees in the City of Brotherly Love. After spending yesterday at the Penn Relays, I decided this morning, I’d do my track workout. I headed up to the indoor track and did 8x800m sprints. Nothing better than a good butt kickin’ to start my Friday.

This was my last week of training for Broad Street. Here’s what it looked like:

  • Monday-6 miles
  • Tuesday-4 miles
  • Wednesday-26.5 miles from spin
  • Thursday-3 miles
  • Friday-8x800m sprints

Tomorrow will be my rest day (I’ve strategically planned this because of the happy hour I won at Tavern on Broad that I intend to thoroughly enjoy), and Sunday will be my final long run of 1o miles. I’ll be tapering and carb depleting all next week, so stay tuned for more details on all that fun! I’m getting so excited. Seeing all the runners yesterday really got me anxious to take on Broad Street again. I have to find me some red socks to wear in honor of Beantown. I can’t wait to see the all the Boston love that will be happening next Sunday. Not to mention all the post-race/Cinco de Mayo celebrations that will be happening. Tequila anyone?

The past couple weeks have been filled with some pretty exciting stuff, you guys. Between my trip to Miami, an amazing first date, and a kick ass concert, I’m thinking that this weekend will be the cherry on top of a very tastey cake. Things are looking up and I think it’s safe to say that it’s going to be a fantastic summer 🙂
