The Fire

“You don’t say good luck. You say don’t give up. It’s the fire, inside you. Let it burn.”-The Roots

FREAKIN FRIDAY! Boy, am I glad to see you. Today is going to be great for so many reasons. The first being that I’m 24 hours away from eating carbs. HORRAY! The second being that tomorrow is expo day AND my parents will be here. And the third is that I get to go shopping after work for a dress to wear to my boy’s graduation dinner. Yippppeee. Can you tell I’m on my third cup of coffee?

So…I’ve been saving my favorite race week post for last: the playlist! My favorite question to answer is what music do I listen to while running. Unless I’m running trails, there are always buds in my ears pumping out tunes. When I ran my first half marathon, I literally listened to the same song until mile 9 to keep the perfect pace. A few years later and I’ve finally perfected the art of creating playlists to match my desired pace.

Broad Street, I can’t begin to tell you how ready I am to see you on Sunday. My red socks are washed and I’m ready to run strong for Boston and for less cancer and more birthdays. Wish me luck, you guys. I’ll see ya out there!

  1. Good Luck Sunday!!! I used to do the same thing and list to the same song over and over during a run to keep a good pace (and sometimes still do if its a new song I love and can’t just get enough of). For some reason I’m embarrassed like other people know what I’m doing.. Thank God for headphones otherwise people would get very annoyed with me and the same few songs on repeat.

    1. Thank you! I can’t wait to run/rock out! I had a runner comment on how much he liked my music while running next to me. Such a good way to keep everyone motivated 🙂
