“Can’t you see it’s we who own the night”-Miley Cyrus
Don’t mind me. I’m just blasting some Miley Cyrus to kick off my Friday morning. As much as I hate to admit, I really love this song. She’s a little whacky, but this might be my new getting ready jam. And it doesn’t sound too bad when running down Kelly Drive either.
So today is the day before Mikey and I leave for West Palm Beach/Miami. We’ll be staying with his family until Wednesday, then heading to Miami to celebrate the 4th. I can’t wait! Not only is 4th of July one of my favorite holidays, but it’s been months since I’ve been down in Flo-Rida. I can’t wait to see my Trent. I love to fly, but I absolutely hate the packing process. I hate to over-pack, but I also hate to not have options. I’m trying to fit everything into my birthday present-a Longchamp duffle-that I can just carry on with me. I made a list and I’ll be checking it twice, but I’m sure I’ll forget something.
Every time I travel, I like to have a plan. When I’m at the beach, running in the morning is an absolute must. Nothing beats the high after a morning run on the sand. I love running barefoot, right at the edge of the water. I swear it makes me feel more alive than anything else. But, Florida is smack dead in the middle of hurricane season right now, so I’m sure there will be mornings when I’ll have to hit the gym. In case the weather doesn’t permit, I’ve tossed my old training log into my suitcase and I plan on whipping that baby out. Like I’ve said before, I can’t let myself have fun unless I know I’ve earned it. Maybe I can even talk Mike into joining me on some of those mornings 🙂
I’ll be taking next week off from blogging, but I can’t wait to come back and share all my vacation details with you! Have a fantastic holiday, my loves. See ya in 10 days!
