“We’re hollow like the bottles that we drain.”-Lorde

IMG_5024Well, it’s definitely not sunny in Philadelphia this morning. It’s rainy and humid and gross. What the hell happened to my beautiful fall weather? It’s October 7th, right? You would never be able to tell from this freakin’ heat. My run on Saturday was rough. I knew it wasn’t going to be that cool, but the air was heavy so that made it worse. As if I didn’t sweat enough from running 8 miles, later that afternoon we went to the Temple-Louisville game at the Linc and sweat our balls off some more. Everyone was drenched in sweat. It was so gross. And I got sunburn…in OCTOBER. I’m so mad about this. I want fall weather, dammit. Weather aside, it was a pretty awesome weekend. I stopped by the Fall Festival on my way home and it was pretty sweet. I wish I had gone earlier in the day like I planned, but taking multiple cat naps on the couch seemed like a much better idea at the time.

I noticed when I was running on Saturday that my musical fuel has significantly changed throughout my running relationship. I would run to whatever could keep my tempo-usually an assortment of hip-hop/rap songs. Recently though, I’ve been running to a lot of EDM. I guess it’s not a bad thing because it’s all pretty hype, fast paced stuff, which makes me run faster. I never thought I’d see the day when Jay-Z wasn’t on my running playlist. Here’s what was pumping into my earholes this weekend:

  1. IMG_5019Wake Me Up-Avicii
  2. Can’t Stop Me (Club Mix)-Afrojack & Shermanology
  3. Calling (Lose My Mind)-Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso
  4. Pompeii (Bbop & Roksteadi Remix Edit)
  5. Animals-Martin Garrix
  6. In My Mind (Axwell Mix)- Ivan Gough & Feenixpawl
  7. First of the Year (Equinox)-Skrillex
  8. Cinema (Skrillex Radio Edit)-Benny Benassi
  9. Lights (Bassnectar Remix) -Ellie Goulding
  10. Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites-Skrillex
  11. Summit (feat. Ellie Goulding)-Skrillex
  12. Sweet Nothing (feat. Florence Welch)-Calvin Harris
  13. Summertime Sadness- [Lana Del Rey vs. Cedric Gervais] [Cedric Gervais Remix]
  14. I Could Be the One-(Avicii vs Nicky Romero)
  15. Alive-Krewella
  16. Call On Me (Radio Edit)-Eric Prydz
  17. Cheap and Cheerful (Sebastien Remix)-The Kills Ghetto Bass Dance

I really hope this week goes by fast because I have something planned for Saturday that I’ve been keeping secret for what seems like forever and I really can’t wait for it to happen. AHHHH. Happy Monday 🙂
