“Wearing your heart like a stolen dream, opening skies with your broken keys.”-Zedd
Happy Friday! I’m all snowed in on my couch and I couldn’t be happier. I feel like I’ve been on vacation forever. It took me a minute to realize what day it actually was when I woke up this morning. Boy, Monday is gonna be rough. Let’s play a little catch up.
New Year’s Eve was absolutely amazing. I went to Jersey in the afternoon, got ready with my girls, then we took the train into the city. By the time we got in, celebrations were in full effect. We wasted no time kicking off our’s, popping some bubbles before we got there. We spent the night at Pier 36, dancing until long after the ball dropped. The sun was just about coming up as we were getting home. I don’t know which were killing me more: my eyes or my calves. I took a quick power nap before heading back to Philly. It was a whirlwind of a night, but absolutely amazing and worth all the sleep I didn’t get.
I got home just in time for the Mummer’s Parade. This is one of my favorite Philadelphia traditions. Since I lived on Broad Street for the past couple of years, all I had to do was roll out of bed and start drinking mimosas as the parade passed. But now I’ll just have to start watching where all the action happens. After the parade, the shenanigans continue down on 2 Street, which is absurdly close to my new house. I guess I lucked out in the trade-off. We finished up the night with a bottle of champagne and some Thai delivery. 2014 is off to a hell of a start.
As my holiday vacation wraps up, I’m starting to get excited to get back into my usual routine. Running, lifting, and lots of clean eating. As hard as I tried, the holiday still kicked my butt and my love handles a little bit. I figure I’ll give myself this last weekend to enjoy and then it’s back to the grind. I’ve started to jot down some new goals that I have in mind. I like to have a three big goals: professional, personal and physical. Once I have narrow those three down, all the other little goals start falling into place. What’s your post-holiday game plan to get themselves back in check?
I hope everyone has a wonderful, snowed in weekend. Let’s share our goals on Monday!
