“Her heart is broken, but she won’t say that. Her heart is broken, but she can’t go back.”-Ben Rector
Monday, you’re mean. It’s my first day back in the office and I’m a few hours short on sleep. Hello, Starbucks. On Friday, I blogged about setting goals. It’s the time of year when everyone is hell-bent on making themselves better. I’m not that kind of person. I’m constantly setting new goals and raising the standards for myself. But in spirit of the resolution making, I decided to share my goals.
- Personal-Give up control. By now, I’ve said at least 100 times that I’m a little bit of a control freak. But I’m really trying to work on letting go of the need to control things and just let them happen as they’re suppose to. I can’t control other people, their emotions or actions, but I can control how I react to them.
- Professional-Be irreplaceable. I’ve been lucky enough that I found a job that doesn’t feel like a job. I genuinely love what I do and the people I work with. But I’m always looking for ways to improve. Rather than be good at a bunch of things, I’ve decided that I wanted to narrow it down a bit and become great at a few things. Online marketing is such a huge space, and I want to pick a few areas to really shine in.
- Physical-Try new things. I get so stuck sometimes in my routines and ways of thinking that I forget that there may be different, possibly better, ways of improving my physical being. Whether it’s running a new route, or taking a new class, I really want to try some new ways of training. I’ve been contemplating going back to CrossFit, but still haven’t decided. Eventually I’d like to do a tri, so I really need to start improving my swimming. My new mantra? Try new, be better.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday! Be better 🙂
