“Everything that drowns me makes me wanna fly.”-OneRepublic

photo 1Happy Monday! I’m so excited that this week is finally here. I’m off to San Francisco bright and early tomorrow morning, after an awesome weekend spent with friends and family. It really hasn’t hit me yet how much I have to look forward to over the next month.

photo 2On Friday, I went out for dinner and drinks at The Corner. You really can’t beat their happy hour menu. After such a rough two days at work, red wine was definitely needed On Saturday morning, I woke up and ran a few errands and then spent the day making Valentines, drinking vino, and cooking with my mama. It snowed pretty much all day, but stopped just when Margo arrived. Nothing feels better than getting hugs and kisses from my sweet little girl. Hearing her say “I love you Aunt Tottie” makes my heart melt into a mushy mess. That girl has me wrapped around her finger. I can’t wait until she moves down here, so we can spend more weekends together.

photo 3I haven’t even started to pack, so after spin class tonight, I’ll be reeking havoc on my closet. The first thing that I’ll be tossing in my bag will be my running sneakers. I can’t wait to run in 45 degree weather. I’m sure the rolling hills of Cali will be ripping my calves a new one, but I really can’t wait. I decided that my goal for the trip will be to run across the Golden Gate Bridge. I’ve been absolutely terrified of bridges since I was little. My science teacher in grade school showed us a video of an earthquake in California that brought the Golden Gate crashing into the water. Since then, I’ve been scared shitless of crossing bridges, especially over bodies of water. If I can muster up the mental strength to run that bridge, I’ll be on a runner’s a high for a long, long time.

I hope everyone has a fantastic week. I’ll talk to y’all when I get back from Cali!! Oh and here’s a fun San Fran fact: the very first fortune cookie was made in San Francisco, in 1914. Nom!
