“Satisfied and empty inside, well that’s alright. Let’s give this another try.”-Breaking Benjamin
TGIF! My bags are
packed repacked and I’m NYC bound tonight after work. I can’t wait to spend the weekend with my most favorite hawks, in the city that never sleeps. As you can see from that picture, I’m still feeling the effects of Baltimore. I guess I shouldn’t have tried to wrestle with the boy who is also training me. I was practically bench pressed. Not my smartest decision ever (but still totally worth it). Week two of race training and I’m finally feeling like my old self again. My speed is almost where I want it to be, and I’m finally lifting at the same weight I was when race training in the fall. I’ve been super sore but it hurts sooooo good.
Here’s my training from this week:
- Monday: Leg day + spin class
- Tuesday: Upper body weights + 3 mile run
- Wednesday: Leg day + 30 minute tempo run
- Thursday: Upper body weights + 3 mile run
- Friday: Full body weights + 6 mile run
- Saturday: 3 mile run (through Manhattan!)
- Sunday: Rest
I’m also super excited to tell you that I finally got an UP bracelet. I’ve been wanting one since last year and I’m absolutely obsessed with it! It came in on Monday night, so next week I’ll show you a week’s worth of UP activity. This little thing is blowing my mind. It keeps track of my sleeping, my steps/mileage, my caloric intake and output. I sync it at least 3 times a day and I’m always trying to see how many more steps I can get. I’ve used heart monitors before, but I never realized how much could be tracked by a little bracelet. It’s seriously the coolest thing ever.
Well I hope y’all have something exciting planned for the weekend! I can’t wait to share all my fun from another weekend adventure in the city that has 722 miles of subway track (fun fact!). Whoop!
