Crystal Baller

IMG_6791Happy Marathon Monday! It’s a beautiful morning here in the Always Sunny and it’s going to get nicer as the week goes on. I started off this morning with a run, and it was exactly what I needed after this weekend. Plus…it’s Marathon Monday so I felt like it was absolutely necessary. I can’t wait to stream the race while I’m at work. With that has my background noise, I’m sure I’ll be extra productive.

On Friday night, my sister and I did our usual sushi date and then I met up with Matt and a few other SJU kids at Graffiti Bar for a couple of drinks. It was so nice out and Graffiti started to get packed so we hopped across the street to El Vez for a pitcher of margaritas. El Vez is hands down one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Philly (second to Cantina of course). I’ve never had anything there that I didn’t absolutely love. Plus their blood orange margaritas are killer. It was the perfect way to wrap up the week, and even though I had no intentions of going out, and actually really wanted to stay in and sleep, I had a blast.

IMG_6753I woke up Saturday morning and was stoked to see how gorgeous it was outside because B and I had brunch plans at Red Owl Tavern. There wasn’t any outside seating at Red Owl, so after we finished up we went searching for the perfect place to have a mimosa or two in the sun. After a 30 minute walk around the city, we decided on Continental. We grabbed a table on their rooftop patio and enjoyed a couple of Champagne-O-Ramas (Smirnoff Raspberry, champagne, with a grenadine sugar rim). YUM. After a few drinks, I walked back home to bake cupcakes for Easter before our night of birthday celebrations. We started at Revolution House since they have an awesome patio with a beautiful view of Old City and the bridge. After RH, we went down the street to National Mechanics. We had an awesome time and ended the night with some late night pizza.

IMG_6787On Sunday for Easter, my mom made a huge mimosa breakfast for me, my sister, and all my friends that stayed over. Celebrations were beginning in the early afternoon, so once everyone headed home, we got ready and made our way to the Dirty Jerz, cupcakes in tow. I made three different kinds: Carrot cake with cream cheese icing, Almond Joy (vanilla almond cake with chocolate icing with coconut and shaved almonds), and Lemon cake with vanilla icing and blueberries on top. I’m pretty sure they were a huge hit. We spent the entire afternoon playing with my cousin Parker and eating too many peeps. It was the perfect Sunday.

It’s crunch time before Vegas, so I’m doubling up on my workouts and eating extra clean. Plus sleeping and hydrating like a boss. Oh and I’m anxiously awaiting to see my photos from my shoot. Melissa said she’ll be posting the piece this week. Stay tuned!
