You Could Be Happy

IMG_6964Ughhh it’s about time, Friday. Although Friday got here quickly, this week has been one of the worst weeks I’ve had in a very long time. Post-Vegas and pre-meno (not to mention the 3 huge campaigns that have/will launch in the next 4 days), my days have been lift, work, run, sleep. Literally in bed at 9pm. But for as much as this week has sucked, it’s made for some aggressive workouts, fueled by frustration. I’m not gonna feel one bit guilty for enjoying a glass of wine at happy hour tonight with my loves because this week was brutal.

IMG_6972Yesterday was the 6-month countdown mark until Nashville. Fundraising and training have officially begun. The first three months will consist of lots of speed and hill intervals, using 2 hours of spin to keep my endurance strong. Then the last 3 months will be all about mileage. Here’s a look at what I did this week:

  • Monday-Cinco de Runno (nice 5 miler down to the water front and through Society Hill)
  • Tuesday-Morning upper body weights and 2.5 miles of speed work (1.5 miles at a 6:30 minute mile, followed by 1 mile of full on sprints)
  • Wednesday-Morning leg weights and spin class at night
  • Thursday-Morning upper body weights and 3.5 miles of hill intervals (University City royally kicked my butt into next week)
  • Friday-A quick 3 mile run before the sun came up
  • Saturday-Back to back spin class and leg weights
  • Sunday-An hour yoga class in the morning and an evening 3 mile run

IMG_3985I know I’m a few days early, but I want to wish my mommy the happiest of Mother’s Days. She is my biggest supporter (and the first one to read my blog/be on my case if I miss a post). She’s at every finish line, hears every boy issue, and to this day lets me squeeze my feet in between her legs when my toes are cold. I can’t wait to tell you all about the surprises I have up my sleep for Sunday ❤
