Give Me Love

These summer weekends get the best of me and it’s a struggle just to get to work on Monday morning. But have no fear, this is the last weekend of summer (tear…), and pretty soon I’ll be back to spending my weekends in the city. Let’s do a little recap of this past weekend, and a look to what’s ahead!

IMG_7777On Friday night, I went to happy hour with my two man friends, before heading up to World Cafe Live to see Red Wanting Blue. Although I’m not the biggest fan, my cousin loves them, and it was great to have all my friends and family together, enjoying a really great live show. And I have to say…they do put on a great show. Definitely better than just listening to them on my iTunes. After the show, I took my cousin and the boys down to Garage, a fun little bar a few blocks away from my house. It’s such a fun place, right across from the Pat’s/Geno’s madness. After a couple of beers and a few games, we headed down to meet up with more friends at Growlers. My cousin is a huge craft beer fan, which Garage and Growlers are both great spots for. He definitely got his fill.

IMG_7767We woke up, not so early on Saturday morning, and headed up the Reading Terminal. We spent the morning walking around Center City, before getting lunch at El Vez. After El Vez and some shopping, we stopped at Cantina for Al’s favorite margarita. By the time we got done at Cantina, it was mid-afternoon and the rain started to roll in AKA the perfect time for an afternoon nap. Since Friday night was a little excessive, Saturday night was spent in on the couch. Plus I had a long run on Sunday planned and definitely needed the rest. After Sunday Runday, I made my entire family breakfast to celebrate my dad’s birthday: choco chip pancakes, bacon, and cheesy eggs. Oh and mimosas of course. The rest of Sunday was spent relaxing together and enjoying the beautiful sunny weather.

We’re over half way through the hump. Cheers loves 🙂
