I Bet My Life

“I’ve told a million lies, but now I tell a single truth: there’s you in everything I do.”-Imagine Dragons

IMG_8424Hey there loves! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We bundled up, pies in tow, and headed to New Jersey for feasting festivities at my aunt’s house. I spent the afternoon chasing around my two-year old cousin and listening to my uncle talk about the perfect man he’s going to help me find (Jesus take the wheel). We got a little bit of holiday snow here in Philadelphia and it made Turkey Day all that more magical. Not to mention the Eagles dominated the Cowboys. I don’t think I could have asked for a more perfect day to be thankful for.

IMG_8430It was a struggle to get me out of bed this morning for my 6-miler. Wind chill aside though, once I got out there it felt good to burn off all those carbs from yesterday. And with a view like that, how could you not stay motivated. I am truly thankful that I’m able to run. Not everyone has that ability and I am thankful every day that I don’t take it for granted. Here is what my first week of marathon training looked like:

  • Monday: 3-mile run+abs
  • Tuesday: 30 minute tempo run (3.66 miles)
  • Wednesday: 3-mile run+upper body weights
  • Thursday: 5k Turkey Trot
  • Friday: 6-mile run
  • Saturday: 3×400 hill repeats (3.6 miles total)
  • Sunday: Rest

I’ve got a pretty fun weekend ahead of me. Happy hour with the girls tonight, and then birthday celebrations in Manayunk on Saturday! Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday weekend! Talk to you Monday! Xoxox 🙂
