Whiskey In My Water

“We’ll break out the bottle, drop it down low, crank up the throttle. I’m good to go.”-Tyler Farr

I had some company this past weekend, so I got the chance to visit some places that I don’t frequent too often. There are so many fun things to do in Philly, but with living here, I don’t always take advantage. So with a boy in town, I decided it was time to pull out all the stops. First stop: Dinosaur Hall at the Academy of Natural Sciences. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that boys love dinosaurs. Every boy. It’s pretty much a fact of life. They can be fascinated for hours. And not only does the Academy of Natural Sciences have a whole hall dedicated to dinosaurs, but they also have floors of fun, from a walk-thru heart, to a floor or wildlife. After what seemed like hours at the museum, we headed to Village Whiskey for lunch. I had the eggs benedict (equipped with a crab cake and duck fat fries). Freakin’ delish. After lunch we walked around through Rittenhouse for a little bit, then headed to Franklin Mortgage for their infamous Old Fashioneds. I’ve done a lot of research, but I still have yet to find a better Old Fashioned than those from Franklin Mortgage. After an afternoon nap, we headed out to watch the playoff games, and meet up with some friends. Sunday was spent walking around the market, drinking mimosas, and watching movies. The perfect ending to the weekend.

I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend. I’m off to the office for the first time in what feels like forever. Happy Monday 🙂
