“I’ll make the most of the minutes and love with no regrets.”-Meghan Trainor
Ugghh, the Monday struggle is so real today. I hate to say I’m still jet lagged, but there’s a pretty good chance that may be the case. This weekend consisted of a lot of sleeping. A couldn’t make it down since he was too busy with school, so most of our plans will be shifted to this weekend. But it seemed to work out for the best, since I barely had enough energy to leave the couch. Let’s go back to last Monday, shall we?
We switched our flights so that we could get out before the snow started, so we got to San Fran around 2. We cleaned up, and headed over to the Marina to get some dinner and do some shopping. I managed to get the most adorable Valentine’s cards and I can’t wait to send them out. We wrapped up the day with sushi and wine at Ace Wasabis. SO good and so fresh. I was asleep by 8:30 on Monday night, but awake at 2. So I did the only thing I could think of: went running. After my run, I was able to spend a good hour in the gym alone lifting and stretching, which was really nice. I took a power nap before our day started. We had a few early meetings and then headed to Napa Valley for our team building event aka wine tours! We started off at Silver Oak Cellars, which was all red wine (my fave!)I brought back a yummy Cab Sav and can’t wait to crack it open the next time A cooks. After Silver Oaks, we headed down the road to Peju, where we tasted about 7 more wines, of all kinds. Since my mom loves Sauvignon Blanc, I brought her back a bottle that seemed to go down like water. Once we wrapped up that tour, we went to dinner at Long Meadow Ranch. We were given our own room, where we were wined and dined with the freshest food I’ve ever eaten.
Wednesday was filled with lots and lots of meetings, but dinner made the long day totally worth it. We went to Acquerello, a Michelin star rated Italian restaurant. I’ve never been to such an amazing place. The wait staff was choreographed, the wine glasses were always full, and the food was out of this world. I left with a belly full of yummy. On Thursday, I started off my morning with the traditional run across the Golden Gate, and then we spent all day tied up in meetings. Since we were taking red-eye back to PA, we had a quick dinner at Level III before heading to the airport. I managed to get very little sleep on the ride back, so most of Friday was spent trying to catch up.
On Saturday, my mom and I headed to Sea Isle for a family birthday celebration, and Sunday was filled with a chilly run and of course, Super Bowl shenanigans. I brought a chili bar to the party, complete with a crock-pot of chili, cornbread muffins, hot dogs, sweet potato and ruffle fries, and all the fixings for nachos! There’s nothing more that I love than throwing a party.Hope everyone’s Monday is off to a great start. I’m dreaming of some Blue Bottle coffee as we speak!
