Greetings from The Capitol, my loves! ThePhillyGirlShuffle is on the run again. Izz and I made it into DC and I’m getting more excited for tomorrow by the minute. We’re headed to the expo to pick up my race packet, grabbing some lunch, then spending the afternoon exploring the city. It’s been years since I’ve been to DC and with the help of my House of Cards obsession, my goal is to be the nerdiest tourist/runner here. Since I’ll be seeing most of the monuments during my run tomorrow, I’m thinking we’re going to skip all that today and head straight for the good stuff: Georgetown Cupcake. What better way to fuel for 13.1 than a cupcake or
three two? We have dinner reservations tonight with some friends some high school at Lavagna. I can’t wait to stuff my face with pasta and catch up with my long-lost best friend.
Even though this week was short in training, I figured I’d share how I tapered:
- Monday: 4 mile run and lower body weights
- Tuesday: 30-minute tempo run and abs
- Wednesday: 2-mile run and upper body weights
- Thursday: Yoga
- Friday: Rest
- Saturday: RACE DAY!
- Sunday: Rest
