“We stayed up all night long, made our drinks too strong, feeling ten feet tall.”-Sam Hunt
Why Monday? Why must you be here already? It’s just not fair to end a weekend that was as good as this past weekend was. I don’t even know where to begin, but I guess Friday is the best place. SO, here we go! On Friday, my cousin texted me and said he was going to be in Philly for a concert. Since I didn’t have any concrete plans, other than celebrate Philly Wine Week, I decided to take him up on the offer for a free show! He got into the city around 3, then once I got done work, he and I headed to Jet Wine Bar to meet up with my mom and have a little Friday. After happy hour, we grabbed a bite to eat at The Cambridge we made our way to University City to see Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors at World Cafe Live. WCL is one of my favorite venues to see a show in Philly, and the band put on a hell of a performance.
On Saturday, I woke up, ran, and then spent the morning baking, cleaning and getting everything ready for Leah’s birthday party. Before my cousin left, we stopped at Cafe Lift for some breakfast. By the time I dropped him off at the train station, I was ready for an afternoon nap. I invited everyone over for cupcakes and champagne before we all Uber-ed our way over to Stratus for the real party. I made the cutest cupcakes, decked everything out in pink and gold glitter, and made sure that the birthday girl didn’t feel a day over 22.
On Sunday when we woke up, I was rudely reminded that although I felt 22 on Saturday night, I am certainly through the better half of 25. I slept in until almost 11, had brunch at Silk City, then spent the rest of my day snuggling with my sister and avoiding getting ready for the long week ahead of me. I’m hoping that with the holiday this weekend, the work week flies by. I can’t wait to celebrate the Easter Bunny coming with my little man and lots of candy!
