“And the weather so breezy, man why can’t life always be this easy.”-Kanye West
Happy Memorial Day my loves! This weekend was absolutely fantastic, but I couldn’t be happier to be back in the City of Brotherly Love to kick off the summer! Let’s do a quick weekend recap, shall we? After brunch in Chicago, I boarded a plane for a non-stop flight to Miami. I landed just in time for happy hour, where I practically inhaled a pineapple mojito. I’m not usually a fan of rum, but you know what they say, when in Rome, right? Plus, I haven’t had a mojito better than those at Tarpon Bend.
On Saturday, I got up and ran on the beach, before we headed to lunch at The Biltmore. I don’t know what I was thinking wearing such a long dress, because I was ROASTING. But hey, it looked good. Plus after a quick monsoon, the humidity was gone and all was right in the world. We stuck around and laid by the pool for the rest of the afternoon, before making our way to dinner. Trent made dinner reservations at Piripi, and it was out of this world. Like some of the best Spanish influenced seafood I’ve ever had in my mouth. SO good. By the time we left, I was almost in another jean size, and ready to fall into a sound food coma…in bed.
I don’t if it was from running in the heat, all the time I spent in the sun, or too many margaritas, but on Sunday morning I slept until almost 9:30. I know that seems early, but for me, half of my day is done by 9am. We decided to do coffee on the deck, so I could spend as much time playing with Romulus as possible. Life without a puppy is so sad. After a few jars of iced coffee, we showered up and headed out for a late brunch at our favorite spot: Peacock Garden Cafe. They have the most amazing very berry mimosas and French toast. I’m almost positive I left 10 pounds heavier. After I packed my bags and kissed the pup goodbye, I was on my way back to the Always Sunny.
I know I’ve said it a few times, but I am SO excited that summer time is finally here and can’t wait to share all my adventures with you! Happy Memorial Day babies. Cheers to America and the greatest season ever!
