“And we’ll discuss our big dreams, how we plan to take over the planet.”-Alessia Cara
Happy Monday, loves! I’m still on a sugar high from my holiday weekend. July 4th celebrations started on Wednesday, when a friend and I went to the Phillies game, where they wrapped up the ninth innings with a fireworks show. Even though the Phils lost, the fireworks were amazing. On Thursday after work, we did dinner for one of my friends who is moving out of Philly. We went to our favorite Mexican spot, El Vez. It was a bittersweet night celebrating Leah, but I’m excited to see what her new life with her fiance holds for her. Hopefully lots of love and happiness.
My plan was to celebrate the 4th in New Jersey with friends and family, but at the last minute, I booked a train ticket to New York City. I made my way to Gramercy Park, where me and my best friend ate our body weight in bomb pops and champagne. We decided the best place to see the fireworks was from FDR, so we walked down to the highway and stood around for what seemed like forever before Macy’s lit up the sky. It was totally worth the wait, but nothing was better than the burger and beer we got afterwards. We were up early on Sunday, so we grabbed breakfast and walked around Union Square in the sun. I couldn’t have asked for a better holiday weekend. I hope there are many more like that in my future 🙂
