“From June ’till December, it was you and me.”-Afrojack

IMG_0399Thank the baby Jesus it’s Friday. It’s been the hottest, longest week of the summer (or at least that’s what it feels like) and I want nothing more than to jump into an ice-cold pool right now. BUT, I guess a weekend with GJ and margaritas and brunch is the next best thing. Actually, yeah…it definitely is 🙂

Ok. Rant time. I’m over summer. I’ve about had it up to here with running in the heat. I’m tired of feeling tired, and slow, and sluggish. And as much as I know I’m going to be fine once the temps get cooler, it’s hard to not feel down about my training. Don’t get me wrong: I never thought marathon training was going to be easy. I guess I just overshot how much my body was prepared for the beginning months of training during the summer. Anywho, here’s what my training log looks like for this week:

  • IMG_0387Monday: AM full body strength training+PM spin class
  • Tuesday: 3-mile run
  • Wednesday: 3-mile
  • Thursday: 6-mile run
  • Friday: Rest
  • Saturday: 12-mile run
  • Sunday: 6-mile run


  1. Yeah running in the sun is no fun at all. We are ready for sweater weather too but I always hate saying goodbye to summer. It’ll still be summer weather here for at least a month+. Ready for cute chunky sweaters! 🙂
