12046846_10154279587715299_3094910203585574265_nI’m sure I’m not the only one who has been completely and utterly obsessed with this song. And when I say obsessed I mean it’s been played at least 384 in the past three days. Sorry, not sorry. It gives me all the feels; even the ones I didn’t know existed. After this weekend, I need all the pick me-ups I can get. I was super pumped to run the All City 20-miler this weekend with Philly Runner, but it didn’t turn out quite like I planned. I was off to a great start, feel strong through mile 7. We got to the end of Kelly Drive and the course took us back through some trails. The first mile or so was paved, but once we hit gravel, my pace went down and my footing started to waver. I had no idea that we were going to be running trails, and was totally unprepared. Since the start of the run was about 2.5 miles from my house, I decided to turn around early and just run back through the first part of the course and then back home. I was at mile 13.5 when I felt a pull, then heard a pop. I jogged it off for a bit before stopping and realizing I was in trouble. There was no way I was going to be able to run the rest of the distance. I ended up running/walking until I get could a cab. I strapped on a brace for the rest of the weekend and prayed to all the running gods to help what seems to be my hamstring. With less than a month until the marathon, I’m in no shape to be nursing an injury. Any tips or advice for a running girl?
