“And we’re spinning with the stars above and you lift me up in a wave of love.”-Belinda Carlisle
I mean but really. Heaven is truly a place on earth and that place is mile 26.21. Sunday was nothing short of a dream. I conquered my first (but definitely not my last!) marathon. I didn’t finish in under 4 hours like I was hoping, but my legs felt great the entire run, and I couldn’t be happier. I had THE best cheer squad ever and soaked up every mile for all it was worth. I lost track of the number of high fives I got, but they definitely exceeded the number of miles I ran. GJ surprised me with shirts he made for my entire family, and the signs I saw were absolutely hilarious. I crossed the finish line with the biggest smile, and maybe the happiest little tear streaming down my face. Three days later and I’m still on cloud 9. Oh and this article…is…everything.
I want to wish all of you the happiest of holidays. I have so much to be thankful for this year and can’t wait to spend the rest of the week with my people, recovering and stuffing my face with taters and turkey 🙂
