“The world’s become so hard. We will learn as we grow older, we’re stronger than they are.”-Brighten
Hello there loves and happy Monday from the Always
Sunny Muggy Philadelphia. I made it back from NYC yesterday, just in time for some pretty nasty thunderstorms. On Friday night, GJ and I ventured out to Brooklyn to see The Knocks at The Knitting Factory. First, we stopped to eat at the adjoining restaurant, The Federal Bar. We split a few apps: the brussels sprouts, pork belly tacos, and cheese slate. The tacos were some of the best I think I’ve ever had. We danced until 4AM before we realized it was time to take our old heads home. It was almost noon before we actually got up and out of bed on Saturday, so we just grabbed a quick breakfast and coffee and spent the day relaxing. Later that night, we ventured down to the piers in the Financial District for dinner at Grand Banks. The weather was absolutely perfect, and the food was even better. Dinner was followed up by dessert at Sundaes and Cones and then a nice walk back home before we crashed on the couch.
We were up early on Sunday morning, so that GJ could get to work and I could get a quick run in before heading back to Philly. I got home, started the laundry, got groceries for the week, and then caught up on some TV before making it an early night. I’m four and half short days from being on my birthday vacation. This year, rather than go to Avalon for a week, we’re venturing down to Dallas to visit my family. I haven’t been there since sophomore year of college, so I’m super excited to see my aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. Oh and also for BBQ. Any recommendations for places to go?!
