Get Home

“We are the last people standing at the end of the night.”-Bastille

Good morning! Monday crept up on me way too soon again. This will be my first full week in IMG_2491the office this month and I’m less than excited about it. But at least I have a few things to look forward to: City Fit Girls run on Wednesday, my NYC Marathon Happy Hour on Thursday, and fireworks on Friday. This weekend will mark one year since GJ and I officially started dating and it’s crazy to think how much has changed in a year. Luckily, dating your best friend of 8 years has worked out well, despite the physical distance between us.

Yesterday, my sister and her friend joined my brunch club at La Peg. Usually I hold back about negative experiences, but I couldn’t not share the service we had. We arrived a little early before our reservation, and grabbed a mimosa at the bar. The bartender was awesome and super attentive, and we were seated promptly at the time of our reservation. It seemed to take forever for our server to get to the table, let alone take our order. After waiting almost 45 minutes, our food finally arrived. I ordered the eggs Benedict, but the egg was completely hard. There was no yolk running over the biscuit and Canadian ham. C’mon. What’s an eggs benny without that runny egg? I’ve never been one to send food back, or even complain, but I almost hesitated to finish the dish I had been served. Once we all finished and asked for the check, it took another 20 minutes before the server could accurately separate the checks. I’d be hesitant to recommend La Peg to anyone except for happy hour at the bar or their adorable outdoor beer garden. Sorry, Fringe Arts.

On a much more positive note, I can’t wait to share all the plans we have for the holiday weekend with you all. But first, let’s get through Monday!
