IMG_2542TGIF y’all! It has been the hottest week of the summer in Philly, and I’m dying for a dip in a pool. Anyone’s pool. Who has one?! The hottest week of the summer also happened to be my first week of training for the New York City Marathon. Lucky me! It’s been pushing triple digits in terms of “real feel” temperatures and my hair/body is taking a beating. So far, I’m loving this training plan and every piece of advice I’m getting from my ACS coaches. Here’s what my first week of marathon training looked like:

  • Monday: Rest
  • Tuesday: 3-mile run
  • Wednesday: 6-mile run (2-mile warm-up, 6×400 intervals, 1.5 mile cool down)
  • Thursday: 3-mile run
  • Friday: Cross training
  • Saturday: 10-mile run
  • Sunday: 4-mile recovery run

GJ and I spent the holiday weekend celebrating our anniversary with a date night in (which included the most amazing homemade Beef Wellington), a pool day/birthday cookout with our closest friends, a NYCFC soccer game, and a Sunday funday down the shore. This weekend, we have zero plans and I can’t wait. Cheers, loves!
